ALIEN in full Score
Clients: Chris Siddall Music Publishing
This new publication, released by Chris Siddall Music Publishing, delves into Goldsmith’s visionary music through 256 pages of detailed analysis and archival material. The book explores his inventive use of unconventional instruments — from conch shell and serpent to didgeridoo and shawm — and his ability to weave both beauty and terror into sound.
Beyond its groundbreaking visuals and storytelling, the film became equally renowned for Jerry Goldsmith’s haunting score — a blend of romantic orchestral writing and unsettling dissonance that perfectly captured the tension of deep space horror.
I had the pleasure of creating the cover illustration for this edition. My visual concept draws from the same contrast that defines Goldsmith’s score: the meeting point between the organic and the mechanical, between harmony and unease. Through texture, light, and restrained color, I aimed to evoke the eerie, atmospheric world that Alien embodies — a timeless balance of fear and fascination.
